This Insertion Taper ships complimentary with every Titane earring order — no need to add it here. Buy only if you'd like an extra or replacement.

An insertion taper is a simple tool that makes putting your earring back in fast and fuss-free. It attaches to your earring post in place of the decorative top, extending the post with a tapered tip that glides smoothly through your piercing. Once your earring is seated, swap the taper back out for your decorative top.

Two styles, matched to the two earring styles on Titane Jewelry:

  • For Threadless Earrings — for any Titane Threadless (also known as push-pin) earring, where the decorative top presses onto the post
  • For Internally Threaded Earrings — for any Titane Internally Threaded earring, where the decorative top screws onto the post

    HOW TO USE

    For a Threadless Earring

    1. Attach the taper to the earring post — press the taper's thin pin end into the hole at the top of the post.
    2. Gently push the taper through your ear from the back.
    3. Remove the taper, leaving the earring post in place.
    4. Press the decorative top onto the post. For Threadless earrings, slightly bend the decorative top's pin before pressing it in — this creates tension so it grips the post and holds securely.

    For an Internally Threaded Earring

    1. Attach the taper to the earring post — screw the taper on.
    2. Gently push the taper through your ear from the back.
    3. Remove the taper by unscrewing it, leaving the earring post in place.
    4. Screw the decorative top back onto the post.

    Notes

    • You can wear the earring without the taper — this tool is simply designed to make the process easier.
    • Wipe your taper with saline before and after each use, and keep it somewhere clean and dry between uses.
    • Made for healed piercings only — not for fresh piercings or stretching.

    FAQ

    Which taper matches my earring?
    If your decorative top pushes in, you have a Threadless earring — use the Threadless taper. If it screws in, you have an Internally Threaded earring — use the Internally Threaded taper.

    Can I use this with earrings from other shops?
    Yes, as long as it's 18G (1.0mm post) and the same style. Works with labret studs, tragus, helix, nose, lip, and other 18G flat-back body jewelry.

    Will this stretch my piercing?
    No. It's sized to fit 18G piercings — a guide, not a stretcher.

    Can I reuse it?
    Yes. Wipe it clean before and after each use.
